John! That worked!
Tapping the the 1/8" plug with the 9V battery successfully prints the
letter "V". Neat!
Ok, on to step 2. I'm going to connect a socket to the DB-9. I'm planning
on connecting pin 3 to the tip and 5 to the sleeve, does that sound correct?
I've got an old windows laptop with a serial port and will try and get
boudotRSS up and working.
I'll let you know how it goes!
