Ray... was always helping people.
He is a great role model.
Alas by the time I knew My friend Ray.... the oldest thing he had
around the house was some model 15 stuff which he gave to the Deaf
community when he moved. I suppose I could have had one but I had a 14 and
a 28 and was more intent on the ASCII stuff as that was the time I was
just starting my computer business.... Ray Morrison's generosity is in
large part for my successful entry into the computer and datacom field.and
the formation of my company that was responsible for much in my life!
Ray Morrison is highly esteemed at SMECC We are still looking for
things to add to the section we are doing on him. Does anyone have a
QST index of article authors for the entire history? did he have anything in
there!?
Thanks Ed Sharpe archivist for SMECC

I imagine most of them just went into the dump as soon as something
better like Model 26s became available. The original owners of the
12s had to phase them out because Teletype quit making parts for them.
So the hams got them, and they are not very nice machines for ham radio.
Lots of RF noise, which was not such a problem on VHF but was severe
on HF. And they were made from typewriter parts, so were less durable
than the later machines - altho that might not have been a problem in
the fairly light duty hams gave them. But mostly they were probably
just worn completely out. I was given a couple of Model 12 typing
units by Ray Morrison and ended up tossing them out because the bearings
were beyond worn out.
