Simon:
The odds of finding the correct knobs for the R17 are much better in Europe
than here in North America, but if you cannot find them let me know as I
have several pieces of Racal equipment I use for spare parts and may have
what you need. With regard to changing the capacitors and resistor this is
no small task in the R17 due to how the chassis was cast with individual
pockets to isolate and prevent various circuits from "talking" to each
other.
I am now in the process of changing all the capacitors and resistors in
my R17C. See the photos of my working Racal station at the link below.

Subject: [GreenKeys] ot: looking for knobs for Racal 17L
hello all,
after tinkering with some 33's and a 43 besides flexowriters and siemenses
for a while, we finally got a Racal 17L. Unfortunately it is missing some
knobs and needs a overhaul (capacitors and resistors)
I Have a picture of the front, so you can see what knobs are missing. It
seems that the knob in the middel should go below the meter and a knob with
a ridge in the center.
and of course there are some missing screws, and living in a metric world,
these are hard to come by...
Anyone in europe with some spares around?
