[GreenKeys] Model 33 Rubber Hammer

The rubber hammer on my 33 is still largely intact. When I used the machine
briefly over the summer the hammer developed a depression, possibly caused
by softening with the summer heat. I have posted some pictures here:
http://sdrv.ms/1dOUMwT. I am wondering if I should keep it while it lasts
(keeping an eye on it all the time of course), or should I just replace it
anyway with the plastic tubing?

 

How is the rubber attached anyway?
