Yes, I will definitely need to step down the voltage. That's not too
difficult to do. The bigger problem is that our mains power here is 50Hz.
If the tape printer has a synchronous motor, I will either need a 50Hz gear
set (presumably unobtainable!), or reduce the baud rate to 5/6 of 45.4 baud.
The other option is to power it through an inverter, to achieve 110v/60hz.
