My last post about Bert Prall apparently had an inappropriate title and was sent for "moderation." I don't know why the equivalent of "Person Who Operates A Teletype, Extraordinarily" is not appropriate, but in case the Moderator moderates the entire previous message, here it is:
I knew Bert Prall when he lived in San Antonio, Texas. I used to meet him a few blocks from his house at the China Sea restaurant on Werzbach Road for lunch, while en route to Brownsville, Texas. Bert's entire ground floor was one "working museum" with old telegraph instruments, antique telephones, switching apparatus, and early key telephone systems. There was even open wire strung in some rooms.
Bert still had some older Teletype machines in a display area, but I don't believe any were operational at the time. He passed away some years ago, most likely from a stroke, at his residence. I have been in contact with the person taking care of Bert's house and from what I can determine everything is just as it was when Bert died.
