One thing I have not seen mentioned in this thread is that because 
they are of an "AC/DC) Design these power supplies MUST be handled 
very carefully.

Make sure you touch nothing at all while they are running.

They rectify the power line, with no isolation transformer or 
consideration for personnel safety.

Simply put, they will BLOW YOUR ASS OFF if you do not deal with them 
in a respectful manner.
