Thanks for that report. That 4.004 RTTY is still there again, right on  
time,
and sounds close enough to be in the next room here in SC. Very  strong
and very clear. 
 
I am amazed you can hear it in Los Angeles. We know from another in
the group that it is (was) also heard in Indiana.

I hear those same signals in Los  Angeles.  I think I've 
also heard them on other frequencies, for  instance near 8 
mhz but didn't make any notes. Same thing here trying  MMTTY 
both A and D and some other programs, it _sounds_ like 
regular  RTTY but isn't. It decodes (if I can use that term) 
to nonsense. If this  is encrypted military traffic it would 
be interesting to know who is using  it and why. Evidently 
plain old HF has some advantage over satellite for  somebody. 
Goes along with the "counters".
