Yes, Javier
I saved these using save as (.txt) and stored them in the MMTTY program file then send it to the TTY as a text.

Folks,
I like this idea a lot.
Regarding the sources...
For HeavyMetal v3.1 I actually made an archive section with some text recovered from multiple sources.
In HM it is available directly from the menu but you can of course access the files directly.
Check it out.

These are historically quite correct, and extremely fancy to play (I do at the museum from time to time).
However they have slight variations from the originals, to ensure that if somebody prints these and tries to sell them as authentic, it would be possible to identify them.

I bet we could automate it. A webcam and OCR software could take huge chunks at a time, or rig a flatbed and a take up "spool", like what was done with acetate rolls on an overhead projector. Of course, we have to find the content first.

well on ebay there are many messages for sale also there are some on the net .... that is how I found that one I posted previously ...
Finding the log of the real stories coming in over the wire before the Flash would be the hard part....
it would be a lot of typing! I am not the one to do it since I have poor typing

I like the idea, but it raises a few good questions. In a typical day, was there any sort of "archive" for news sent over the UPI or AP wire? I'm assuming that after a tape was sent it was trashed.
Part of the fascination of a recreation like this would be to make it as authentic as possible, to have other, real stories coming in over the wire before the Flash.
You see scrolls of typed output saved from major events, like this, and the moon landing (and put on eBay at preposterous prices). Does anyone have the scroll from the assassination?
When I have my 28 up and running, you'd be surprised the number of people, young and old, that ask me if the news coming in is current, or "old". -Cory
