For a while during the early '70s I ran RTTY mobile.
1955 Chevy pick up truck with a Corvair bucket seat on the
drivers side and a Model 15 mounted on a table bolted to the
floor on the passenger side. A 150 amp Leece-Neville alternator
to power everything, a Gonset GC-105 radio with a crystal
for 145.800 MHz and a home brew transistorized TU.
*Grins* I'd tell people to give a minute or two warning so I
could pull over before it was my turn to type.
Oh, also...hiding underneath the Model 15 was an old Alfred
sweep generator with waveguide up to a horn antenna in the
grill. That would play absolute havoc with the police radar
guns at the time.
