[GreenKeys] FW: GreenKeys Digest, Vol 112, Issue 12

Hey Gil,
I'd prefer a delete key over censorship. Yes, multiple, flagrant violations, something to think about. But, that was too fast and humiliating for the fellow. How about the folks who might have agreed with him? It wasn't a "willful and repeated violation", just off handed humor.
Seems the idea of "no person shall ever suffer discomfort via the spoken word" is out of control and commonly called "PC". If anyone is so thin-skinned to have slammed the back of their hand to their forehead in distress over his comment, they're the one who should leave....just my humble opinion of the way the world is going.
With the recent exposure of the US's IRS harassing free speech in the US, home of the 1st Amendment, do we need it here too?

Yeah, I actually did remove a person the other day for blatant political posting; something I have never needed to do in the past. I don't want to totally discourage off-topic posts, but they should at least be of a technical nature. This is not a chat room. And yes, the city name thread has wandered into unacceptable waters as well.
One other fellow told me that removing a subscriber was not very greenkeys-friendly, but nobody else complained. I thought the guy I removed might have requested to be reinstated and agree to play by our rules, but he never contacted me, so I guess the list was not that important to him.
Sheesh -- didn't we just go through a lengthy discussion of what is and is not appropriate?

I guess I am the only person objecting, but Gil, please remember that hitting
the delete key comes AFTER one has had to read tripe like this. It should not
be allowed. The cure? You don't even have to moderate, just remove them
from the list.
