Wayne:
I have a question, would it be possible -- by replacing the
LINE-OFF-LOCAL switch on the '33 -- to mod a "DECified" '33 (or '35!)
to work both as a normal teletype, and a "computer controlled"
teletype?
Well, I know it's possible, but is it easily doable? I.e. swap out the
3-position switch, with a four position switch;
LINE-COMPUTER-OFF-LOCAL, COMPUTER mode works as normal with a '33 with
the reader control card, LINE puts power to the reader control leads
so they work as you'd normally expect. LOCAL and OFF work like they
always do.
True, it's not really a "canon" mod for the '33 (or '35) but, it is
useful though.
Cheers,
Christian
