Hi Nico,
the Hasler SP300 in Denmark used a kind of V.21 modem interface.
switching-central: originate mode tones
teleprinter: answering mode tones (as far as I recall...)

> Hello all
>>> I've written before about Hasler teleprinters. I've now dissected the one
>>> I am looking at for the danish IT museum, and it shows that this one is
>>> equipped for oddball tones.
>>> In other words, I need something to convert RS232 (Comport signals) to
>>> these tones.
>>>

> If you only want to demonstrae the printer from a compute, you can use
>> one of the ham sound card programs. They put out the tones from the audio
>> output of the computer sound card. Try the mmtty program free from here.

> I found the MMTTY program, but at http://hamsoft.ca/pages/mmtty.**php<http://hamsoft.ca/pages/mmtty.php>.
> Looks very impressive. The first problem that caught my eye, was the shift.
> As far as I can read the PDF file containg the Hasler diagrams, the mark
> and space frequencies are 1180/1850 or eventually 780/1650, which gives a
> shift of 670 resp 870 Hz. The last mentioned corresponds more-or-less to
> 1700 Hz with a 850 Hz shift.
> I've see that there is a user group for this program, so further enquiries
> will go there.
> Thanks for your help. Much appreciated
