not only the elders folks.

think of the master and apprentice relationship.

the young pup will have to experiment to learn what works and what doesn’t.
the old fart already knows what works and what doesn’t.

but it gets worse.

if we put our masters out to pasture, where will that leave our apprentices in the next generation?

Since when does replacing an engineer with a hobbyist make sense?
And how does a potential employer spin the fact they are willing to
imperil a current employee's livelihood to someone less qualified?
They don't value their role as an employer with responsibility to the
work force, that's how. It's shameful how a once proud America
no longer cares for their elders.

The young man who is going to do the IT work is a political science
major with an english minor.

On the other hand I have over 40 years of experience in data
communications and transmission engineering.
Everything from DC to Light.

Of course I am 70 years old, and therefore totally useless to anyone
under 35 years of age.
