Finally got the M19 on the air today, using a demod board plus an optical
interface to key the radio. My IC7000 has a "real" fsk mode where you feed
it a DC voltage to tell it whether to send the mark or space tone, and
another DC voltage to tell it whether to transmit or receive, and it does
all the FSK itself. So with the interface box connecting the loop to the
radio it's pretty easy to get on the air using just a transmit/receive
switch.  I even made a set of "macros" using the punch, so i could send "CQ"
and the rest from paper tape, which was fun.  Nothing new for folks here but
it was pretty neat having no computer involved at all...
