My Model 15 has that feature. It also has automatic CR at end of
line. I can't find it mentioned in the Model 15 Description,
Adjustments, or Parts bulletins.
Auto CR at end of line prevents pileup at the right, but it
still takes two character times to return the carriage, so
you get one character typed somewhere around the middle of
the page.
My own software (in "baudotrss") does word wrap to handle
end of line. That's not hard to do. Western Union actually
built a word wrap unit out of relays in the early 1950s,
to handle page printers running from telegrams created without
line breaks.
