Hi gang - I am starting to resurrect a 28 compact KSR (Navy AN/UGC-20)
- I figured out the terminal block connections for the motor and the
selector magnets and got it printing OK.
Now I need to hook up the keyboard. Help!
There are some loose wires hanging on the terminal blocks and any
hints as to how they should be wired would be greatly appreciated. Are
the distributor clutch magnet and keyboard transmitter reset solenoid
run off 115vac or ???
The installation bulletin says Teletype included a wiring diagram with
each machine but I imagine that was the first thing to be lost 50
years ago.
I've never messed with one of these new-fangled keyboards before -
for others who haven't either, the compact 28KSR is not like a regular
28KSR or 28ASR. It has a keyboard transmitter like a model 33 - with
parallel electrical connections that are wired to a distributor
mechanism which generates the serial line signal.
cheers,
Nick
