[GreenKeys] 9. Teletype Machine Model 32

Hi Everyone!

Wow, thanks so much to everyone for your thoughtful and detailed responses. I really appreciate it! It would be so cool to get this working, and have people send and receive telegrams in a coffee shop or storefront as a quasi-art project. I would love nothing more than to try and get this to work, but unfortunately, I'm under strict orders from my roommate to get rid of it ASAP. Also, I think it's way beyond my (very limited) technical abilities and I would hate to screw up such a beautiful machine. I'm located in Southern California, and if anyone is interested in restoring this machine, please let me know. I'm planning on putting this up on eBay on Thursday, but I would rather it go to a good home to someone in the newsgroup. In an ideal world, I would love to collaborate with someone. If you can get it to work, I would find a place to display (temporarily–maybe over a weekend in a gallery or other venue) it in action! I'm open to ideas. Please contact me at: meg at meaghanmurphy.com if you're interested.

Thanks again,

Meaghan Murphy

If anyone would like to share their expertise, I would certainly appreciate it! From what I understand, assuming the machine is still in operable condition, I could hook it up to some sort of modified computer terminal and have it send and receive messages. Has anyone tried this? I know that I may have gone down the rabbit hole a bit with this, but I love that people are repurposing 40+ year old technology. Thanks in advance for your help!
