Steve,
I am not sure, but I do know that European Telex is 5 level and 66 WPM. Most US Telexes are 66 unless they have had the 60 WPM gears installed to make them compatible with RTTY needs.

What modifications are necessary for a non-telex machine to participate in the I-Telex project?

This is a perfect machine for joining our i-Telex network project.
It matches perfectly to our system without any modification.

There is a pretty clean telex from Plains Georgia up on ebay. Item # 261253318049.
Is somebody from our group bidding on it? I was going to put a bid on it, but if somebody here really needs it I will hold off.
If I remember right, these need a gear change to get to 60 wpm. But my memory is rusty on that. Wayne would know. If so, does anybody have the gear?
The seller is willing to crate it for shipment. But without the special screws to lock down the carriage bad things might happen no matter how good the crate is. If I win, I'll be seeking to borrow some screws...
I'm half tempted to make the drive to pick it up as it would give me a chance to loop through Baton Rouge...... (one if you will surely understand what I mean.....).
Let me know.
Paul
