Coury! thanks! got it!

yea remember the ibm thing looked like a 28 also but
different code...

Jim? do you have more details?

Yes I love these mags.. what a walk back into time.

Coury - -I sorted your our duplicate ones and have 69 though 90
bound mostly compete. duplicate.

no duplicate early sixties...

we are missing the first 4 years in the 50's

For the Burroughs, look in the first few issues of '61 (I borrowed them
from the university library and had to return them earlier today). You'll find
a multi-page article describing the design and architecture of the 5000.
There's a large pic with a layout of planning samples showing the TT on a
metal cabinet, console height. Could be a 35, but given the flexibility of
the 5000, who knows?

Ok, found the source for the UNIVAC 3. Take a look at the console section-
they call out the M28 specifically. Makes sense given the distance between
the print unit and the keyboard. What a sharp console!

A few more entries in the 'What computers used an M28 as console
equipment' category...

Just reading through a few issues of Datamation 1961, the Burroughs B-5000
features a table top model prominently for operator I/O (not a skin-tight,
either), and if I hadn't read it in the manual, I wouldn't have known it,
but the UNIVAC III uses the guts of an M28 sunken into its sleek,
formica-topped operator console. -Cory
