[GreenKeys] Western Union 28 KSR

Sorry, I gave you some information that was not correct:
If you push the top three selector levers while turning crank (Or while
running open), the result should be the letter A (Not R as previously
stated). It will be at the top left of the typebox just before the
hammer trips.
Also. Once AC is applied, the machine will run open or closed. If
closed, then, type a letter and see if it is transmitted to the printer.
If it does nothing and continues to run open, pull the black relay
cover at the rear (usually found in the TT-47) and push the relay
contact to the opposite position, if it runs closed, you have the 60
mills required. If so, simply strap in series with signal generator on
the terminal block. It has been 40 years since I worked on one, but the
sig generator is a simple make or break circuit. you can pull the cover
off and see if it is pivoting from break to make.
The reason the power switch is removed is that the operator did not want
someone to turn it off. The TTY's in the weather circuits in the USAF
control towers were usually in that configuration.
Good luck!!!
