She's home safe! My dumb questions can begin.
I picked it up for $49.99 at an antique shop in central Wisconsin.
They're passing my phone number to the fellow in Wausau that
they got it from. I'd like to know more of its provenance.
The oil smells nice. Nothing happens when I plug it in.
Turning the main shaft does result in it striking an empty spot
in the fifth position of the upper row of the type box (no matter
which key I've pressed.)
I don't see how to turn it on, though... the lower right switch
is absent, and same for the switch spot inside the lid.
I don't see any electrical service unit as in Fig. 15 on the
last page of "Teletype-28-Desc&OpPrinc.pdf". I expected to see
something like this with the start/stop relays and fuses.
There's a space behind the mechanicals but I don't see mounting
holes or brackets. There's nothing downstairs in the pedestal.
Drat. What'll it take to get a functional ESU?
The 3x5 connector has seven wires... does this mean it was parallel?
