Charles,
You may get a better answer, but I use fine sandpaper on the platen and the roller. Just put a rag under the platen and do one side at a time, then move the carriage and do the other. Make sure to wipe them clean with 409 or solvent and make sure the small roller is free and not binding.

Subject: [GreenKeys] Rejuvenating the platen on 33?
The platen rubber on both my 33 ASR's has become very hard and the
urface is quite smooth. So despite the appropriate pressure from the
mall spring-loaded roller in the front, neither machine will reliably
ine-feed especially in cold temperatures that my shack is now
xperiencing. The platen is turning, it's just not grabbing the paper.
Is there something I can apply to the rubber to rejuvenate (soften)
t? Or would coating the surface with a frictive material be an
lternate fix?
thanks
harles
