Good evening

This afternoon I went to an estate sale in Warren, Michigan. There were two Model 28 RO floor
models waiting for a new home, and two Model 15KSRs looking for a new home. One was up in the
garage, and the other in the basement. The one in the basement was much cleaner looking than
the one in the garage, but both had been in service in recent years. (Not positive how
'recent'.)

The decedent is John Klotz, W8CDU. John was active in Civil Defense and other Public Service
work during his lifetime. He was a Repeater Trustee at times, and involved in several Metro
Detroit area clubs.

In addition to the printers mentioned above there is a Model 14KTR, Keyboard Typing Reperf
also looking for a new home. None of these items were put to a power test, but all appeared
to be capable of running. Motors were spun and printer mechanisms made the appropriate
sounds and actions.

To sweeten the pot, there are THREE extra Model 28 Printers available for parts. They may
be of use as is, but that would require a better eye than mine.

There were five or six boxes of roll paper in unopened cases marked "Property of the Associated
Pres" printed on the boxes. This can be had probably for 25 bucks a case, which is a fair price.

In addition there are the usual odds and ends that accumulate in any ham's life. Some tools,
lots of parts and several computers of the Vic-20, Commodore 64 and similar eras. Printers and
game boxes of the same era.

I don't know how long the widow, son and daughter in law want to be involved with this disposal,
so it would be best not to wait too long.

The contact people are:

	Bob Klotz
	(248) 890-4508

	     or

	Melanie Klotz
	(248) 890-4735

The home where the items are located is East of Van Dyke, West of Hoover, and between
12 Mile Road and 13 Mile Road.

Call for an appointment or to discuss anything. THE CONTACT PEOPLE ARE NOT HAMS AND WON'T BE ABLE
TO ANSWER MANY TYPES OF QUESTIONS. I WOULD SUGGEST LIMITING INQUIRIES TO WHEN WOULD BE A GOOD TIME
TO MEET. THEY WILL FILL YOU IN ON THE EXACT LOCATION.

DO NOT GO TO THE HOUSE WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT. John's widow is not receptive to dealing with
strangers.

I might be able to answer a few questions, but for my knowledge level, I feel I've spelled things
out fairly well above.

SUMMARY:

Four page printers, 2 Model 28 RO, 2 Model 15 KSR
Three spare 'parts' printers for Model 28.
One Model 14 KTR Keyboard Typing Reperf.

These people don't have a clue as to what someone might pay for these items. Although several of
the visitors did quote some prices, but for known, working machines.

All five printers have type boxes. I noted that one typebox was a weather box. There should be
no objections to an early purchaser selecting ONE typebox that will suit his purpose from what
is available.

These people are most interested in a clean basement so that the widow will have a peaceful and
useful place to live.

Good luck and good hunting.

73,

Ralph - W8ROI
