[GreenKeys] Over the top collecting

I was a teenager during the 1965 World's Fair. I visited the Fair many times, being a local. I spent 99% of my time in the Bell system exhibit, riding through it to see the Teletypes (I remember the 35ASR) and the color TV (never saw color before that!).

That eBay Picturephone was probably assembled by hand at Bell Labs.  Western Electric never set-up a production line for that unit.

I was at the 1965 World's Fair in NY as a child, and I remember the booth for the Picturephone.  I remember seeing a display model (not in operation), and the line for the real-deal.  We didn't do it, but we watched other people as I recall.

I was more fascinated by the TT Model 35 I saw (either at the A. T. & T. exhibit, or very near by.)  At my request, the family went back to see that Model 35 run once more before we left the fair .  I couldn't believe how they got that little box of typebars to dance around, and the hammer that seemed to hit the backs exactly right, but so fast you couldn't really see it.  You can keep your Picturephone, that bouncing type-bar box was -amazing-.  (Still is!)
