Oh I have no qualms about what it sold for. It is certainly a rare item.
I enjoyed looking at the pictures. ALL of the parts inside were high
quality. None of that consumer "how cheap can we get away with"
nonsense that is so prevalent today.
And the design? Solid state... A real cutting edge product for 1963.
And the "new" DTMF pad. Sweet.... Oh, by the way, those spots on
the CRT? Either of two cause for that. Mold growing in the adhesive
between the CRT and the safety glass on the front or the phosper
falling off of the face of the CRT internally.
I vaguely remember seeing one of those at the AT&T display at
Disneyland in the early '60s. Along with Monsanto's "House of
the future."
*Laughs* Of course, at the time, I was more interested in Ed
"Big Daddy" Roth's Rat Fink models. ;-)
