Greetings GreenKeyers - - -
GREENWICH is finally up and running.
There was a problem with RTTYApp on the Greenwich Channel, in that there
were breaks in the audio stream between stories, and I had found that one of
the initiation commands in the startup sequence is not raising RTS. RTS is
the RS-232 feature that turns on the tones from the ST-8000A tone source.
This could be corrected by stopping the program long enough to hit
transmitter off and then bring it back up, which then set RTS high, thus
bringing up the tones.
However, after a complete run through the queue, the reload sequence would
turn off RTS, and the tone breaks between items returned.
After several calls to Bill B. he revealed something about the software that
he had forgotten was in the start sequence. After several hours of diddling
with this hidden feature the correct sequence was found and it seems to work
just fine.
Around Christmas we had a couple of power bumps which dumped everything.
Luckily I was watching NCIS and was able to get everything back up in a
short time.
I have been remiss in that I have not expressed my politically incorrect
self by wishing everyone a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS, A JOYFUL AND HAPPY NEW
YEAR, HAPPY HONNUKAH(SP?), and for those living in dry, sand-filled,
desertified and otherwise less-than-desirable areas a I wish you a joyful
beard trim, a brush of the camel, and fresh paint on your oil wells.
Gads... Saturday the 28 next to me was pounding out the fabulous weekly TOM
TILLSON PICTURE EXTRAVAGANZA and what did I find but a live photo of a buxom
beauty resting in a very large glass of champagne which she apparently found
to be somewhat chilly on her posterior.
SHAKE IT UP BABY>>>>> TWIST AND SHOUT!!!!!!!!!
The best to all GreenKeyers from
