I have to share this.
While working at TRW in 1973-77, I acquired one of the "special"
golf balls for an IBM I/O Selectric.
Periodically, I would sneak into the office and switch balls on the
secretary's typewriter.
Of course, it printed gibberish. They would call the lab where I
worked and asked if I could fix it for them.
I'd head up to the office, "Tell ya what, why don't you hustle
down to the cafeteria and get me a doughnut and a cup of
coffee. I'll have it fixed by the time you get back."
I did that for two years.
