[GreenKeys] the rareness of the KSR 35 vs ASR 35

I do that here!
I have a telephone line simulator that lets me dial between "extensions"
(kind of like a mini PBX). On one port I have an auto-answer modem that
is tied to a Linux PC running "SIMH". SIMH is a simulation environment
that can simulate many old mini- and mainframe computers from the good
'ol days and allow their actual original operating systems to run. I can
also run an instance of DtCYBER which is a similar emulation of Control
Data Cyber systems such as the 6000 series supercomputers and 800 series
mainframes.
I can then use any variety of my data terminal equipment, with a connected
acoustic coupled modem and a good 'ol AT&T 2500 deskset to "dial" into the
emulated mainframe.
When I hear the answer tone from the remote end, I put the handset in the
coupler and off it goes...
I get the same signon banner and login prompt that I remember from the early
70s when I did this stuff as a kid.
It is a hoot. I feel the same "excitement" as I did 35 or more years ago,
when the carrier light on my TI Silent 700 comes on and the carriage
returns and it starts printing that signon banner. Same thing with
an ASR33, when the type wheel starts flying and it prints the CDC NOS
login prompt.
