What's interesting (to me) about that is the early date, as evidenced
by the Morkrum-Kleinschmidt nameplate. I've been trying to establish
when reperforators (typing or otherwise) came into use. That places
it a little earlier than I had imagined.

The "typewriter" style keytops were always preferred by Western Union.
Some of the early Teletype parts books list "celluloid", "pneumatic" and
"spring cushion" keytops. I've never seen pneumatic keytops, but lots
of celluloid and spring cushion. I tend to like the celluloid keytops
for being less mushy than the spring cushion kind; but Teletype seems
to have mostly supplied the latter. What I presume are earlier celluloid
keytops are white with black and red printing - the white-on-black ones
I presume came later.
