I certainly do not know my history here, but ATT did publish a series
of booklets on using the Models 15, 19, and 28 on TWX service during
this period.
The ones I've seen and/or scanned were published in
1949 (model 15, 19)
1962 (model 15, 19, 28 KSR, 28 ASR)

Of course, 1955 is right in the middle here, so this information
doesn't help Ed at all - sorry.
The corresponding booklet for the Model 35 in TWX service (also
scanned via the page above) is undated and (to judge by the design
of its cover) slightly later.
