But understand its limitations.

It's a chelating agent.  In the absence of air, it attacks oxides,
but not metal.  That's why it's so good at de-rusting.
The item to be de-rusted must be submerged in the
liquid.  Applying it to a surface exposed to air will cause MORE
rust to form rapidly.

Because it attacks oxides, it will remove the Parkerizing (that
grey anti-rust coating) applied to many early Teletype parts during
manufacturing.  (Teletype Corporation was very thorough. Remember,
most early Teletypes were rented, not sold.)  Then you have to
apply some new anti-rust coating that won't be as good as the
original Parkerizing.  So only do this to stuff that's already badly rusted.

You can reuse it until it turns black.  Then it's absorbed all the
rust it can.
