     Thank you so much for sending this.  I was a subscriber 
to CQ during Wayne Green's editorship, and later to 73.  I 
was never certain how much he was a pioneer and how much 
just suffering from delayed adolescent rebellion.  He 
certainly did not like the ARRL!   I suppose I should writer 
him and tell him how much I enjoyed his work.  BTW, I 
discovered RTTY though the CQ articles, mainly by W2BFD and 
for a while subscribed to the RTTY news letter he(they?) 
published.  I may still have a packet of these in storage 
but its been decades since I last saw them.  I did not have 
the money to indulge at the time but never got over it.
     While a computer can sort of do what a Teletype does 
its really not the same. IMO Teleprinters are among the most 
astonishing machines ever made, not least of all because 
they were made to be mass-produced and were extremely 
reliable.
