we  sold time on the machine  so...   had it on   24/7    the other machine 
in  the back of the   room  had a 5 meg  hp-7900 cart.  drive and was  our  
 test system,
 
fixed and sold  lots of   boards for the old  2100  processors!

what model pdp-8?  or  perhaps  a PDP-11?
 
In my  young days  our HP 2000 had 2 of the washing  machine drives and the 
heat  just poured off  them!

I learned BASIC on  an ASR33 attached to my school's HP2000/F  timeshare 
system.  I'm sure the thing ended up in a  dump.  :-(
I wish I could've gotten the opportunity to give that  baby a home.  Prolly 
wouldn't be able  to afford the electric bill, tho.
