Well, some of you don't speak for me. I really doubt that we could limit this to teletype machines only and say that we don't like electronics. I for one, like all kinds of solid state "electronic" terminal units and I would be surprised if very many in this group didn't own them either now or in the past. I've played with both and like and own them both (3 CV-89A's, one CV-57, the ST-6, the Dovetron MPC-1000CR, and the IRL FSK-1000 are all that's left). In fact many have never had an actual online tube type terminal unit to drive their 15's and 28's with. I've done homebrew versions to, years ago. And hey guess what, I actually tried out MMTTY on, ......OMG!, an actual computer screen!!! Ohh, shades of satan, .....I'm convicted of building solid state stuff to print RTTY (please forgive me oh Father God). So what, I own 3 model 28 machines still and am working on my 28 Compact. And who knows why but it's all electronics and I DO LIKE ELECTRONICS, including the Teletype model 40 which is all electronics and for the most part I consider it junk, but I know some people like it.
And I have little respect for anyone who jumps a newbie who is asking questions that probably aren't related to the Teletype machine directly, but we seem to do that on here sometimes. ........lighten up guys................Mike.
