    Yes, UNIVAC 1107 and early 1108 machines used a modified
28/35 typing unit as the console typewriter.  It was a
6-bit machine with no shifts, modified to use UNIVAC's
FIELDATA character set (a pre-ASCII 6-bit DoD standard).

    The keyboard was purely electrical, built by UNIVAC,
and part of a larger console with the computer's controls.
