Adrian,
If you live near the RAF Signal Corp Museum, pay them a visit. Alf alf_fisher at tiscali.co.uk, has a working model 33 there or at home. He might be able to help you some with hands on experience.
Most all 33 problems can be found with Visual inspection. No adjusting unless you are sure or can return the adjustment to where it originally was. I will try to help, but with the time difference and no more info, I cant think of anything specific for you to check, just lots of visual inspections.
73,
Wayne

Subject: [GreenKeys] Model 33 repairs
I paid a visit to the Pitstone museum last weekend, located not far from Dunstable (approx 30 miles NW of London, UK).
(See http://www.pitstonemuseum.co.uk)
I had the pleasure of revisiting the working replica of the cockpit of a Lancaster Bomber. When I say working, the instruments, radar, navigation equipment appears to be connected to micro-controllers, such that they appear to work. So when you lift up the four throttle knobs for the engine, there are four independent sound recordings of Lancaster engines operating, and the dials indicate realistic readings.
Well worth making an expedition to visit; it really brings the exhibit to life, and if you ask nicely you get to fiddle with the controls!
The reason for this posting is that the museum also has a section on computing, and there's a Model 33 that needs some attention. Apparently, the tape punches OK but nothing will print out.
I wonder if there's a member of this list who would like to become involved and lend a hand to get the '33 up and running.
Adrian
