[GreenKeys] TT-4/TG Stencil Machine

Hey Gang, I picked up a very nice TT-4/TG over the weekend. Complete minus data plate and 400 OPM gears. A kindly soul left the Kleinschmidt tuning fork under the machine in the case. Keyboard has the square keys but the cover schematic says "B" and it's a non crackle brown drab. Runs well but when I put a new nylon ribbon in and cleaned the type carriage I noticed that the pallets are cutting a slot in the ribbon, close to the center.. Could the problem be in the ribbon lift mechanism, or in the printing bail blade / print cam area? What it boils down to is that I think the pallets are striking the ribbon / paper / platen with too much force but that is just a symptom. If you want to email offlist it's airrelic at juno dot com.
