Ralph I have a spare 28 motor with the fan for the set screw. Plus I have an old LESU chassis with two 7 pin plugs. I looked at the base plug and printer plug in the newly obtained tty and they are both the same matrix. Both locating pins are in the same position. I'll bring them both Saturday for coffee. Rich

I recently did some 'horse trading' and ended up with a 28KSR keyboard base.
The motor fan slips free since there is no screw holding it in place. I've
determined that it is not an 8-32 thread, nor a 6-32, so my guess is that it
is a 6-40 thread. Can anyone help?
The keyboard also was missing the space bar. The two 'things' are sticking
through the key separator, but the green plastic bar is missing. From the
looks of the exposed edges of the 'things', it was not a pleasant parting.
The 'things' move up and down OK. So, I also need the bar, and perhaps
those 'things' might be a part of it.
And, lastly, I need a printer plug. I don't have a parts manual but it
is the same as every other 28 printer I've ever seen. Rectangular aluminum
'box' with a black plastic connector with the holes to mate with the pins
in the mating end on the printer itself. 20 holes in a 3 x 7 layout with
one position dedicated to an orientation pin to assure proper connection.
The orientation pin is in the third position in the center row. I've
noted that Keyboard mating plugs have that in the second position. I
guess Teletype was doing their best to foil "Murphy" when an inexperienced
person was assembling a 28.
I have a bunch of keytops and keylevers, keyboard hole plugs and the
friction fasteners for the underside. These are for trade or up for grabs
for someone who might be able to use them. On my machines, all of the
holes are filled with keytops or plugs, so I don't need the spares.
I also have 9 Answerback Drum blades. Two UNIVERSAL, which can be turned
into any function, and 7 already formed. Don't know what they are. My
28 Manual does not show an Answerback, so that chart was not included.
Can anyone be of assistance?
Thanks & 73,
Ralph - W8ROI
