My part II

In the 80's there was a surplus outfit in Portland Or that go all of
US West (or what the
heck it was called then) surplus. One day I bought from him 48 spools,
4 cases of 12 each of the stuff for I think $1 a spool. They were in
the scrap lead pile.
Over 2 to 3 years I gave them away to friends etc. Sold a few at ham
swap meets for
$5 a spool.

Wouldn't mind having them on Ebay right now :-)
