GreenKeyers and ITTY Wordsmiths.

Things are winding down from a couple of weeks of hectic work trying
to make a few shekels.

Got back into the radio room and found a message from General
Tillson that ITTY was down.

Found some interesting things.

First, there were fourteen instances of RTTYApp running at the same
time. Probably could have fried an egg on the processor.

RTTYApp is the name of the workhorse that ITTY operates from. It's
origin dates back to about 1999 when we were doing teletype news
broadcasts, and is the brainchild of Bill Bytheway, K7TTY, the
fellow who used to be the "kid who lives down the block" when I
moved to Santa Clara in 1968. I owe him dearly, as he has the "JUJU"
needed to make my brain farts happen.

Second, there were two extra files in the RTTYApp folder that the
origins of which are mysterious and did not make any sense, but were
seen by the program as a "must do or you will be shot" type of
thing. It dutifully did them, or tried, anyway, and the program was
off into never-never land.

Eliminated the extra files and finally the system started chugging
along just fine. A simple case of getting the annoying people out of
the theater so you can watch the movie undisturbed.

Anyway, thought y'all might want to know what happened, and that it
are fixed.

Paula and I wish everyone a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING, and hope that
whatever delights served on your tables today result in big, happy
smiles for all.

The best to you from
