Yes,
If you look closely at the mechanism the manufacturer's name is
stamped into one of the parts "GAMEWELL" in script.
Someplace I have the pen recorder that receives the codes. This
technology goes back to the 1800s.
However it was still in use in the 1980s for troubleshooting dial
pulses on trunk circuits.
