Then there are some case designs - Western Union and Teletype both had
a "mail box" design - where a rubber-tired wheel projects through the
top of the case for paper advancing.
But the Model 15 standard cover works fine, and is a lot simpler
mechanically than having a paper advance button like the 28. There
could have been a way to attach the crank to the cover by a length
of chain so the crank would not get separated.
