A model 28 ASR packed in a crate weighs 380 pounds.
A model 19 packed in several crates makes a consist that weighs well
over 400 pounds.
I have shipped ROs and RTs and TDs and M14s all over the country and the
cost was seldom over $135. --- size and weight make a big difference.
Not to mention the required distance.

Wow, really? I'm in Salt Lake City. Any other local Utah teletype
dudes are more than welcome to meet up at our maker group to talk
teletypes or flexowriters. (I have both, as I have mentioned recently
on this list.) Some overview pictures of my computer graphics museum
can be seen here: <http://computergraphicsmuseum.org/the-collection>

I collaborated with another vintage computer collector to get stuff out
of the Black Hole recently (flexowriters, friden tape punches,
teletypes,
terminals, CDC console). We drove down there separately and met up.
We spent the good part of a day and a half pulling stuff out of the
depths of the Black Hole and loading it into my rented Uhaul trailer
and car (Saturn VUE) and his van and trailer.
I have noticed that freight charges have been going up quite a bit; I
had my friend haul an SGI 4D/480 (big fridge size cabinet) from the
east coast out to SLC for $600. Freight companies were quoting me
$1,000+ for that and the 4D/480 isn't really all that heavy, just big.
