Generally, when the 33 types OK from computer and not from kybd, the problem is in the kybd contacts or tape reader or answerback contacts.  Remember the kybd, tape reader and AB contacts are all in parallel feeding the distributor so if two are crossed somewhere it can make another area make mistakes.  Be sure its OK from computer, cause there is a common trouble in the carriage that may be your trouble.  Check AB, kbd and TR contacts visually first.

Hi all...hope you're all having a nice Memorial Day.  I have spent some time today working on an ASR 33 and I noticed that it started printing incorrect characters for what I type.  Output generated by the computer is fine.

Most characters are OK, but the following are wrong, can anyone help?
 
when I type 2, it prints R
when I type 3, it prints S
when I type 3, it prints S
when I type 3, it prints S
when I type 3, it prints S
when I type 3, it prints S
