Wayne..
You're a sharp 'looker' at the eBay images, and right on all counts
about the M15 (keytops missing, handle grip gone).

As my good fortune would have it, my brother-in-law just retired to
a metal lathe in his basement which my father gave him, and he's been
having a blast /creating things/. He made a new grip (out of Delrin and
screw /and washer/ out of his own stock!) for that platen crank. I have
a 'like new' crank now! Looks great and the price was /right./

Steve G's warehouse (and his person) were a trip. I didn't think I
could "get the tour", but it was morning and Steve was up for it. With
respect to old radios, old microphones, and old military gear, he
probably has one of everything or recently sold one.

As for teletype equipment, he has what he shows on his website +
eBay, and that's it. No 32/33 TT at all, to the best of my
recollection. He has one 28KSR, shown on his own site. I didn't
examine it. (Unfortunately, if you inquired by email, he probably
wouldn't be able to answer...it's all metal typewriters to him. On the
other hand, if you sent him a /picture/ of what you want...)

And yes, after I got the M15 home and read the documentation (I
have a complete set for a M19 and an "Enlisted Man's School for
Teletypewriters-Model 15" textbook (which is excellent)) I discovered
how to take it apart into three pieces (which is how I got it down into
the basement---after seeing my chiropractor!)

Steve grew up in the Gardner/Fitchburg area and (as you probably
know) it's a "down-home local" area of MA, so you may know somebody he
knew.

As a side note, if you ever go to Gardner, bring green currency. I
suspect its advantages are appreciated. Also if you go, ask to hear the
story about how /he found the gas station signs /he sells. It's a stitch!
