Yes, there are no actual Teletype or Teleprinter machines used by them
and there is no actual "typing" or "printing" done. So why call this RTTY?
Old habits die hard.
The more correct name would be Ratio Texting, (RT), or Radio
Baudot texting (RBT)
Just like the Technician License - It, decades ago, lost it's real identity
as very few were not so much "technicians" as they were communicators.
Today it should be retitled "Novice" as it truly is the introductory ticket.
It's time for a "mode naming convention" to reestablish more truthful
titles and bring things up to date. :-) (Hey, ARRL!)
