It's the mode not the method of producing it. There are machines on the air today
just not as many. I can't even imagine one of the top scoring ops running SO2R
without the use of computers, it's all about the "rate". Why not just get on outside
of the contests and bang away, there's always the WARC bands on contest
weekends and they are usually pretty quiet.
