[GreenKeys] Idle Line Control, ETC.

After spending an enjoyable day in the shack (while the

weather hit over 100 outside) I have come up with a simple

Idle Line Motor control circuit. By changing some

time constants (resistor and capacitor) it could also be

used as a "KOX" (keyboard operated switch - to turn

on the rig when typing and then turn the rig off after

typing stops).

Thanks to the previous work of George, W7TTY, and Gil,

and the old Radio Shack Engineers Notebook, I cobbled

together an opto-isolator and 555 timer chip circuit

that follows loop activity and, when loop activity stops,

turns off the motor relay after about 25 seconds idle

marking. I put this together using the proverbial

"junk box parts".

I'll clean up the schematic and have it ready for anyone

who is interested later today.

I'll also have an RS232-to-loop circuit (TX and RX) in a few days. It

will include a parts list for a HV loop supply. I might have circuit

boards made for both of these gadgets if there is enough interest.

Jack K0TTY
