Now now Jack you are giving away my secrets ;-) Tee he...
Blue and Gold are not only the last Bell colors but Navy colors.
I had fun coloring the cover but I goofed on the tape printer
as the keyboard should be gray with dark gray keytops.
I will post a corrected copy when I get some time.
I also sent Nick, George, and Richard two more very interesting PDFs.
They are the 1936 and 1938 Bell System Technical Journals
covering the theory in simple terms for manual TWX and
the machines of the day. M14 and M26. I think all will enjoy
them. Each file is about 8 MB so should download pretty fast.
All my best to all of you,
Don K9TTY

I remember when that booklet was published. A lot of RTTY’ers bought
it directly from the Government Printing Office. I still have my copy.
I paid $1.50 for it in 1968 (including shipping!).
My copy has a light blue cover with black graphics, no color. I’m
suspicious of those
blue and gold stripes...!
That is not a Gil cartoon...I’ve seen that many times before. There’s
even
a rubber stamp with that picture on Ebay every so often.

Yes... Thank you Don.
That does somewhat look like Gill's drawing style, but that
style was prevalent in the '30s trough the '50s.
200 pages eh? How long would this take at 60 WPM (just text,
obviously not the full 33 Meg of .pdf formatting. ;-)
